The Monthly Songwriter Showcase, now in its fourth 6-month residency, is a creative-community-building project organized by Laurie Michelle. Every month, a different lineup of five local Colorado songwriters come together to share their original music and stories with an appreciative audience while five local Colorado artists vend their art, jewelry, clothing and more. Please join me at Grossen Bart Brewery in Longmont, Colorado on August 6 for the Annual Northern Colorado Songwriters contest. Grossen Bart offers up some great beers and you’ll hear some terrific Front Range songwriters in a listening-room type of environment. The contest takes place on the first Tuesday of the month from July to November. The audience selects the monthly winner by casting their votes and the contest finals happen in November. KHEN’s Jim Lofgren is a radio host committed to building community and supporting local music. Jim knows the Salida, Colorado music scene as well or better than anyone. I will spend an hour on Jim’s Friday morning radio show as he interviews me about music, what I’ve been up to lately, and I will play three to four songs. Jim is a great guy who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for a long time and I count it a privilege to to have the opportunity to spend some time with him on May 17, 2024 on his 11:00 am KHEN show.

Some of the best wings and ribs around for sure! Weather permitting, the outdoor patio is a great place to meet friends have a beverage and listen to the Middle Boulder Creek rush by just a few feet from your table. Inside, Busey’s incredibly friendly staff will make sure you have a good time and leave with a fun memory. Come on up the canyon 18 miles from Boulder enjoy this spedial place and and hear some live music!

Rosalee’s Pizzeria is an old-world East Coast style neighborhood pizzeria. One of downtown Longmont’s favorite eateries, Rosalee’s offers great pizza, a very nice beer and drink selection, and an atmosphere that will make you feel at home. Great supporters of local music, Rosalee’s is a must try for vistors, and a regular stop for lots of townsfolk. See you there!

Abbott & Wallace is one of Longmont’s friendliest watering holes. Great supporters of local music and committed to building community, this handcrafted distillery, cocktail lounge, and pub, has become one of my favorite places to play. If you love live music and a welcoming and convivial vibe, come on out on Saturday February, 24 and join me and a full band as we share our music and build new friendships.

A Boulder, Colorado neighborhood tavern, The Local has created a space where people can gather with old friends and meet some new folks if so inclined. They pride themselves on serving excellent traditional tavern food & BBQ in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. I’ll be trotting out a few newly written songs and will enjoy making some new friends. The terrific singer/songwriter Scott Von performs at Left Hand Brewery in Longmont, Colorado, on the last Sunday of most months. I've loved Left Hand's beer and the spirit of the place since its inception over 25 years ago, and I'm a big fan of Scott's music. I'm honored that Scott asked me to share a song or two during his appearance.
